Overnight Healing

Great crowds came to him, bringing the lame, the blind, the crippled,

the mute and many others, and laid them at his feet; and he healed them.

Matthew 15:30

When Aaron was nine years old, warts covered his right foot. Over the course of a year, the warts continued to grow in size and spread between all of his toes. It was not a pretty sight. Each night during our bedtime routine, we would read, talk, and pray together before he went to sleep. On this particular night, when Aaron and I began to pray, the Lord said, “Pray for his foot.” It wasn't me. I wouldn't have thought to pray for warts. The unction to pray for Aaron's foot rose up inside of me in a way I could not ignore. I had no choice. (Continue from previous page here)

This was not my own thought. This was a unique occurrence for the Lord to speak in this manner. The Spirit of God suddenly rose up within me and took over. There was nothing I could do but to obey. Without thinking, I said, “Aaron, let’s pray for those warts to leave” and then I immediately took his foot in my hands and prayed as the Spirit directed with absolute and authoritative confidence in God.

All I said was, “I plead the blood of Jesus over these warts, and I curse them and command them to leave in the name of Jesus. Amen.”

The atmosphere in Aaron's bedroom seemed electrified. I had no doubt whatsoever that they would leave. We said goodnight, and I left Aaron's room. I thought no more about it.

In the morning, the minute Aaron awakened, he ran down the hall exclaiming, “Mom! Look! They’re all gone!” All the warts were gone except a very large one on the sole of his foot at the base of his big toe. Both he and I were astonished. The night before his foot had been covered and now there was only one.

Later that day, Aaron came to show me a change in that one last wart. We easily lifted that one big wart out of his foot with a paper towel. It wasn’t even attached! It was just sitting there inside a hole in his foot, and the hole healed quickly. Again we marveled.

Again, this was the Lord’s idea. I had nothing to do with it.

Soon afterward, a memorial bump appeared at the base of my own big toe in the exact place where that last wart was lifted out of Aaron’s foot. That bump is still on my foot, 25 years later! Occasionally I run my finger over that bump and remember the night God healed my little boy’s foot.

Aaron has never forgotten either.

People have said to me, "What if you had not obeyed that prompting of the Spirit?" But there was no way I could have ignored what the Lord said to do. It's like He took over and did it without my even thinking about it. I didn't do it. The Lord did it.
